How to Download Permitted Vimeo Videos from Skool
Vimeo controls the player and renditions inside the Skool lesson. Check the owner-enabled Vimeo download before using the supported lesson workflow.

A Skool course creator can embed a Vimeo share link in a classroom page. Skool displays the lesson, while Vimeo controls the video stream, privacy rules, available renditions, and any owner-enabled native download.
Use a local copy only when you own the video or the owner has allowed you to download it. Vimeo's own help center says downloads are available when the owner enables them. If the creator intentionally disabled downloads, ask for permission or a supplied file rather than attempting to defeat that choice.
Identify a Vimeo embed
Look for Vimeo branding, familiar player controls, a Vimeo link in the lesson, or a provider label in the extension. Do not assume every clean, unbranded player is Skool-native.
Skool's official Vimeo setup instructions tell creators to configure Vimeo embed privacy for www.skool.com and paste a shareable link into the course page. Those domain restrictions can explain why a creator's video works in Skool but not when its URL is opened elsewhere.

Check for the official Vimeo download
Vimeo's current download documentation says a Download button appears on the video's Vimeo page when the owner enabled downloads. For eligible public source files, the viewer may need to be signed in to Vimeo.
When the creator supplies that route:
- Open the authorized Vimeo page.
- Sign in if the creator's setup requires it.
- Choose Download below the player.
- Select the owner-provided version.
- Save it into the course review folder.
- Open and verify the file.
Use the source or creator-provided download when available. It may preserve better quality and clearer provenance than a playback rendition.
Vimeo does not provide native bulk downloading through that viewer flow. A course archive still needs a controlled inventory and permission for each included video.
Use the active Skool lesson when permitted
For creator-owned or explicitly authorized material that the current extension supports:
- Open the exact Skool lesson.
- Confirm the Vimeo player works normally inside Skool.
- Press play and wait for the active rendition to load.
- Open Skool Bulk Downloader.
- Match the detected video to the current lesson.
- Choose a useful available quality.
- Keep the source tab open through completion.
- Verify the local MP4.
Do not expect the extension to fix a Vimeo privacy misconfiguration. If the video cannot play in Skool, the course creator may need to review Vimeo's embed-domain settings.
Understand Vimeo quality choices
The qualities visible to a player depend on what the owner uploaded, how Vimeo processed it, and which renditions the player makes available. A 1080p label does not guarantee that the original recording was sharp.
For a course archive:
- prefer a creator-provided source download when authorized;
- use 1080p when detailed screen text requires it;
- use 720p when it preserves the lesson and materially reduces storage;
- test a representative lesson before applying one quality to every module;
- compare runtime and audio, not only image dimensions.

Keep source and playback copies distinct
If you are migrating your own course, you may have both an original master from Vimeo and a browser-ready playback copy. Label them clearly:

Do not overwrite the source master with a smaller playback file. Record the Vimeo source URL, download date, owner, and final course filename in the migration manifest.

- The player is confirmed as Vimeo.
- The video plays normally in the authorized Skool lesson.
- Ownership or permission is recorded.
- The owner-enabled Vimeo download was checked first.
- The chosen rendition keeps important screen text readable.
- The local file contains audio and the complete ending.
- Creator-side privacy problems are not misdiagnosed as downloader problems.
- Source masters remain separate from study copies.
