How to Download Permitted Skool Videos on a Mac

The Mac workflow is mostly about browser setup and file control

Skool Bulk Downloader runs in desktop Chrome, so the course-backup workflow is similar across operating systems. On a Mac, the important differences are where the unpacked extension folder lives, where backups are saved, and how Finder handles an external course archive.

Use this process only for Skool videos you own or have permission to save. The extension does not grant access, remove DRM, or recover a lesson after your account can no longer view it.

1. Use a supported desktop browser

The bulk course-backup workflow requires Google Chrome 116 or newer on a desktop Mac. Safari, Firefox, and mobile-browser workflows are not supported by the current product claim.

Download the correct extension build from your SERP Store account. Extract the archive and move the complete folder to a permanent location before loading it. A simple location is:

Documents/
  SERP Extensions/
    Skool Bulk Downloader/

Do not load the extension from a temporary extraction location and then move it. The browser references that folder and may disable the unpacked extension when its files disappear.

2. Choose the download destination before the course

Create the course folder in Finder first:

Movies/
  Offline Courses/
    course-name/
      01-start-here/
      02-foundations/
      03-implementation/
      98-needs-review/

Check the browser's download setting and decide whether it should ask for a location each time. Asking can help place individual lessons correctly, but it also interrupts every transfer. For a larger batch, use one controlled inbox such as Downloads/Skool Review, then move each verified file into its module.

Do not use the macOS system Library folder for your course files. Use an ordinary folder you can see and back up.

3. Test one lesson in Skool

Open a short permitted lesson and follow this order:

1. Confirm the video plays normally.
2. Start playback and wait for visible movement.
3. Open Skool Bulk Downloader from the browser toolbar.
4. Choose a modest available quality for the test.
5. Keep the lesson tab open until processing finishes.
6. Find the MP4 in Finder and open it with a normal local player.
7. Check the beginning, middle, end, picture, and audio.

If the extension sees no video, do not repeatedly click Download. Reload the lesson, activate the player again, and use the download troubleshooting sequence.

4. Keep macOS from interrupting long jobs

Long downloads can be disrupted when the browser is closed, the lesson tab is suspended, the Mac sleeps, or an external drive disconnects.

During a large permitted transfer:

• connect the Mac to power;
• keep the browser and source lesson open;
• avoid closing the lid;
• pause unrelated large transfers;
• keep free space on both the working drive and destination;
• verify each completed file before adding more work.

System settings vary by macOS release and device policy. Change sleep behavior only through normal macOS settings and restore your preferred settings afterward.

5. Use an external drive carefully

Apple's current Mac storage guidance says connected USB, Thunderbolt, USB-C, and network storage appears under Locations in Finder and files can be moved by dragging them to the device. For a course archive, download to a stable working folder first, verify the MP4, then copy or move it to the external drive.

This avoids treating a loose cable as a download failure. After the copy:

1. open several files directly from the external drive;
2. compare the course manifest and module count;
3. eject the drive in Finder before disconnecting it;
4. keep a second approved copy if the course matters.

6. Account for provider-specific behavior

A Skool classroom can embed Loom, Vimeo, YouTube, or Wistia, so adjacent lessons may load differently. The Mac is not necessarily the cause when one provider works and another does not.

Record the provider, browser, product version, and exact symptom. Compare with the Skool video-types explainer before reinstalling everything.

Mac checklist

• The delivered extension folder is extracted to a permanent location.
• A supported desktop browser is using the correct build.
• The toolbar icon is pinned.
• The browser's destination behavior is understood.
• A short permitted lesson was tested first.
• The local MP4 was opened and checked.
• The Mac remains awake and connected during long jobs.
• External-drive files were opened before the drive was ejected.
• Permission and course organization are recorded separately.
